# Claude Code 2.1.295 broke type-checking for mods in CI

_My CI type-check worked by accident. 2.1.295 fixed the accident._

My mod's CI type-check worked by accident, and Claude Code 2.1.295 fixed the accident.

Mods import their API types from `'claude-code'`, but no package ships them. The engine writes them into `.claude-plugin/types/` when it loads the mod. A CI runner has no login, so I let a headless run fail on login and kept the files it laid first:

```yaml
- run: claude --plugin-dir . -p hi || test -d .claude-plugin/types/claude-code
- run: npx --yes -p typescript@5 tsc -p .
```

2.1.295 stopped writing types into a `--plugin-dir` folder in `-p` sessions. Right call for users. For CI it removed the only way a runner without a login could get them: the run prints "Not logged in", no types land, and `tsc` fails on every import.

The job pins 2.1.294 for now. I asked for `claude plugin validate`, which already reads the manifest offline, to write the types too: https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/issues/100736
